What is the People’s Stage?
Every year, many Wisdom 2.0 participants ask how they can share their great work, insights, and presentations with our community. We are happy to announce the return of The People’s Stage to our 2017 annual conference.
The People’s Stage is a series of interactive breakout sessions submitted by registered conference attendees and selected by popular community vote. The People’s Stage has space for 130 participants, as it is designed for more intimate, interactive sessions. Sessions are about 18 minutes long.
As secular mindfulness becomes more accepted in the mainstream, there are increasing opportunities to bring secular mindfulness to the workplace. This is a positive development but there are some issues with the secular mindfulness movement which need to be considered and addressed as secular mindfulness expands its reach.
For the proposed People's Stage session, the discussion will explore issues related to:
- Affiliation / relationship with religion
- Motivation of companies and individuals
- Quality of teaching
Peter Weng is a vice president at the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute and a former director at Google who has been exploring issues around bringing secular mindfulness to the workplace.
