How many submissions can I vote for?

During the first round of voting you may vote for as many submissions as you'd like. If you think all the submissions are equally interesting, interactive and inclusive, vote for them all! Have a top 5? Just vote for those.  Once we narrow down the submissions to the Top 20 and open up the second round of voting you may only vote for one submission.

How many People’s Stage proposals may I submit?

One. We understand that many of our attendees have a diverse background and interests, but we do ask that you pick the topic you feel would be most engaging to the 2017 Wisdom 2.0 community and submit proposal on that topic. Multiple proposals will not be accepted.

Can I submit my proposal with a group of friends?

All Wisdom 2.0 2017 attendees are invited to submit a proposal for the People’s Stage. If you would like to submit a topic as a group, we do ask that your group is no larger than 3 and that all members of the group are registered attendees.

What happens if I cast my votes multiple times?

Karma. Each applicant, many of whom have been working on their proposed topics for years—if not a lifetime, carefully crafted these submissions over the course of a month. In fairness to all submissions, we ask that you only cast your vote(s) once.

When/where will these talks be given?

Wisdom 2.0 2017 in San Francisco, February 17th - 19th. Read more about our largest event of the year here >>>

Are there any specific programming guidelines I should keep in mind when planning my talk?

Yes. Each session will be given in the iHanger theater, which is set up with 130 chairs in theater style. These cannot be moved. Second, there is minimal transition time between each time slot (1 minute) so be sure your talk/practice has a simple set-up that can be completed/taken down in one minute. Finally, there will be limited A/V - no videos / powerpoint presentations.

Why is voting open to the public, in the past hasn’t it only been open to event attendees?

In the past, the Wisdom 2.0 team would pare down all the applications we received to the Top 20 before opening up voting to event attendees. This year we wanted to create two rounds of voting to allow the Wisdom 2.0 community as well as Wisdom 2.0 attendees to cast their votes. This way we get to hear from the larger community while creating a broader scope of influence: Wisdom 2.0 Community, Attendees, and Team.
